    I am a PhD candidate in Political Science under the joint degree program between the University of Amsterdam (the Netherlands) and Koç University (Istanbul/Türkiye). My dissertation focuses on everyday implications of borders, surveillance and inequalities in the context of Schengen visa regime. Specifically, I am interested in how individuals and non-state actors practice borderwork, (self-)documentation and perceive inequalities during visa application processes.
