Key aspects of the Corona Recovery Plan

Mr. Janmaat is responsible for the dialogue with the Netherlands on economic issues and the Corona Recovery Plan the Dutch government has submitted to qualify for EU funds from the over €700 billion Recovery and Resilience Facility set up after the pandemic. In his presentation, he will present the work of the European Commission Representation in the Netherlands, his role as an economic policy coordinator between the Netherlands and the EU, and key aspects of the Corona Recovery Plan. He will also reflect on how the methodology developed to assess the Plan may serve as a blueprint for future EU funding programmes likely to be set up to help finance defence efforts in pursuit of NATO’s recently adopted 5% of GDP norm for military spending, and its links with the EU’s fiscal framework.
