  • Profile

As Assistant Professor in Political Science I'm engaged in both research and teaching.

My research concentrates on issues related to the politics of social policy, often in relation to gender, care and/or migration. I'm currently working on a project on the (lack of) representation of care workers (in elderly care, childcare and domestic work) by trade unions. Earlier research included studies of the politics of domestic work policy in the Netherlands, welfare state responses to economic crisis and the role of migrant workers in social care in Italy, the UK and the Netherlands. More information can be found on my personal website.

I teach in the BA Politcal Science, the MA Political Science and the Social Science Research Master. I've taught several qualitative or mixed methods research methods courses at the BA and the MA. I'm also teaching courses on the politics of social policy and inequality.
